“Man vs Nature”

In 2017, I entered the Green Belt Photography Competition. Participants could submit 4 images of the Green Belt. My last image, which I edited minimally, (on the left) was chosen from approximately 800 entries. It was one of 20 winners. The Green Belt printed the image, which was displayed in the McMichael Canadian Art Gallery and then went on a travelling exhibit.

The title of the image is “Man Vs Nature” The building being reflected in the water portrays how man is encroaching on nature. Now at this location birds are swimming on reflections of condos.

It was an exciting and happy moment to have my image included. I believed my other images were stronger, but I was wrong.
